Privacy

What ShareSettings collects, what it never touches, and how to get your data out.

The short version

Browsing ShareSettings sets nothing on your device. If you sign in, one session cookie keeps you signed in, and a second cookie remembers where to send you during sign-in itself before disappearing. Analytics is cookieless and first-party. We never sell data, run ads, or build profiles on anyone.

What we collect

Only if you sign in: your Steam handle and the email address Steam provides during sign-in, the settings reports and hardware profiles you publish, and your ratings and comments. We never see your Steam password.

Anonymous browsing collects nothing that identifies you.

What the site sets on your device

Two cookies, both about sign-in, and neither present for anonymous visits:

CookieWhat it doesHow long
sb-*-auth-tokenKeeps you signed in. Set only after sign-in; anonymous visits never receive it.Until you sign out
auth_nextRemembers which page to return to after Steam sign-in, then is deleted.Seconds

Analytics

We run two cookieless, first-party analytics tools: Umami and Vercel Web Analytics. Each visit sends the page address, referrer, language, and screen size. No cookies, no cross-site identifiers, no fingerprinting. This runs on our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are used.

Your data

You can ask for a copy of your data or delete your account at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile, reports, ratings, and comments from the site.

To make a request, open an issue on our GitHub issue tracker or contact a site admin.

Third parties

Supabase hosts our database and sign-in sessions, Valve provides the Steam sign-in flow, and TechPowerUp supplies part specifications. They receive only what running the service requires — never your data for their own use.
